Feature · Circles

A circle for every kind of relationship you keep.

Circles are how SignalBox organises your network. Each circle holds the people you want to treat the same way, and its rhythm decides when you are next due to be in touch.

A group with a promise attached

Strategic partners, prospects, former clients, people worth knowing. A circle is a group of people plus a promise to them: I will be in touch every 21 days. Log contact with anyone in it and their next follow-up date is set from that promise.

One person can sit in several circles, so your best client can also be your best referrer. When someone is in more than one, the shortest rhythm sets their next follow-up.

What each circle gives you

  • Its own rhythm, which sets every follow-up date for the people in it.
  • Its own health grade, so you can see which groups are drifting.
  • A list view and a board view, with stages you choose.
  • The option to leave a circle out of your overall score, for groups you are not actively tending.

Circles that follow you elsewhere

  • Turn a circle into a SignalFeed feed on LinkedIn, so you see their posts in one place.
  • Link a MailerLite group to a circle, and new subscribers arrive in it as they sign up, ready for you to follow up.

Questions

Can one person be in more than one circle?

Yes. When someone is in several circles, the shortest rhythm sets their next follow-up, so they never fall between two groups.

What rhythm should I choose?

Start with how often each group would be glad to hear from you. Close partners might be every 14 days, prospects every 21 and a wider network every 60 or 90. You can change a circle’s rhythm at any time.

Is a circle the same as a tag?

A tag only labels someone. A circle also decides when you are next due to contact them, and grades how healthy that group of relationships is.
